About Me
My name is Carter Giles, and I am the founder of Backyard Biodiversity. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Organismal Biology from Auburn University, with a specialization in Conservation and Biodiversity. My academic and professional interests have long centered on the stewardship of ecosystems and the intricate relationships that sustain them.
With a deep respect for the natural world, I established this service-based business to bring meaningful, science-informed ecological care to residential and community spaces across North Alabama. I view each project as an opportunity to restore balance, encourage native species growth, and improve the long-term health of local landscapes. Whether through native planting, habitat design, or sustainable yardwork practices, I am committed to supporting biodiversity and advancing conservation at the ground level.
Backyard Biodiversity reflects both my training and my values, a place where ecological knowledge meets practical application, and where small-scale action contributes to broader environmental impact.
